What is Food Writers New Zealand? 

Food Writers New Zealand is NZ’s organisation for all professional food communicators. Offering professional development, networking, support and collaboration opportunities to anyone involved in the wonderful world of food.

It is an inclusive and supportive environment offering four categories of memberships: Professional, Associate, Student and Corporate.

Who can join Food Writers New Zealand? 

Anyone involved in the world of food communication. 

Within our membership we have authors, newspaper and magazine journalists, TV and radio broadcasters, bloggers, instagrammer’s, restaurant reviewers, chefs, caterers, food editors, recipe developers, product developers, food lecturers, food stylists, food photographers, researchers, educators, home economists, nutritionists, dieticians and wine experts as well as corporate members from small artisan producers, to PR firms and large product groups.

Is it only for people who ‘write’ about food? 

Food Writers NZ is for anyone involved in the world of food communication. Including those working within the food industry across a number of platforms such as, but not limited to: print, digital, social, online, TV, radio, physical and more. 

We are authors, newspaper and magazine journalists, TV and radio broadcasters, bloggers, instagrammer’s, restaurant reviewers, chefs, caterers, food editors, recipe developers, product developers, food lecturers, food stylists, food photographers, researchers, educators, home economists, nutritionists, dieticians and wine experts. 

We welcome new members from all food-related spheres. 

How much does it cost to join Food Writers NZ? 

The fee applies to a one-year subscription: 

 

Professional Member – $149.50 (including GST and a $30 one-off joining fee) 

Associate Member – $115 (including GST and a $30 one-off joining fee)

Student Member – $74.75 (including GST and no joining fee) 

Corporate Membership:
Small corporate – $170 + GST
Large corporate – $350 + GST

What is a Corporate Member?

Any company or business who are connected to the business of food and have a strong interest in furthering food communication. 

As corporate members, a range of advertising opportunities are made available to help reach and connect with an engaged and influential Food Writers NZ membership. 

Many of our activities are made possible by the support of our corporate members, who enable us to host interesting events and help keep event costs low for all members.

What is Digest? 

Digest is our bi-monthly food newsletter sent by email to all members. It is designed to celebrate and share the latest food news, while showcasing where and what our members have been cooking, eating and discovering. All of our members are welcome and encouraged to contribute.
