We are authors, newspaper and magazine journalists, tv and radio broadcasters, bloggers, restaurant reviewers, chefs, food editors, recipe developers, product developers, food lecturers, food stylists, food photographers, researchers, home economists, nutritionists, dietitians and wine experts. Our collective knowledge about everything food and drink includes specialist knowledge on topics such as food history, the politics of food, food safety, food and travel, healthy eating, children’s cooking, baking, preserving and slow cooking.
Food Writers New Zealand offers four categories of membership; professional, associate, student and corporate.
Many of our activities are made possible by the support of our corporate members, all connected to the business of food, who enable us to host interesting events and help keep event costs low for all members.
We have associate members who share a sincere interest in furthering New Zealand’s health, nutrition or food knowledge. Student members contribute new energy and ideas to the guild.
Food Writers New Zealand also has three life members: Sue Wakelin, Lois Daish and Jan Bilton. The late Tui Flower was our first President and our first life member.
We welcome new members from all food-related spheres. If you’re not sure which type of membership applies to you, just contact us here, or fill in the membership form and we’ll be in touch.
