Our Membership


We are authors, newspaper and magazine journalists, tv and radio broadcasters, bloggers, restaurant reviewers, chefs, food editors, recipe developers, product developers, food lecturers, food stylists, food photographers, researchers, home economists, nutritionists, dietitians and wine experts. Our collective knowledge about everything food and drink includes specialist knowledge on topics such as food history, the politics of food, food safety, food and travel, healthy eating, children’s cooking, baking, preserving and slow cooking.

Food Writers New Zealand offers the following categories of membership; Professional and Corporate.

Many of our activities are made possible by the support of our corporate members, all connected to the business of food, who enable us to host interesting events and help keep event costs low for all members.

Food Writers New Zealand also has life members: Sue Wakelin, Lois Daish, Jan Ryan Bilton, Kathy Paterson, Lauraine Jacobs MNZM and Pip Duncan. The late Tui Flower was our first President and our first life member.
