CULINARY QUILLS 2007

Conditions of entry - please read carefully

  •  

Only fully paid up professional and associate Guild members are eligible to submit entries for the awards. New members can submit work published since the time of joining.

  •  

Only work published or broadcast between July 2005 and June 2007is valid for entry. All entries submitted must have been published or broadcast with the exception of the Emerging Food Writers Award.

  •  

Entries must be received for judging by Friday 29th June. Entries postmarked on or before Friday 29th June will be accepted. Late entries and entries which do not comply with the Conditions of Entry will not be accepted.

  •  

Entrants can enter into as many categories as they wish but the same feature cannot be entered in more than one category, except in the case of books and articles where the author has also been responsible for food styling and/or photography. It is the entrant’s responsibility to ensure the entry is in the appropriate category.

  •  

A fee - $25.00 for individual members and $15.00 for emerging food writers must accompany each entry.  Please send a cheque made out to NZ Guild of Food Writers. Three copies of each entry are required, each with an official entry form attached to it separately – this includes books and videotapes. Photocopied entry forms are acceptable. Unclear entry forms may be eliminated.

To enter you need to send:

Professional Members: Three copies + three entry forms + one $25.00 fee

Emerging Food Writer Award: Three copies + three entry forms + one $15.00 fee

Photocopies of published material are acceptable where the originals are unavailable. Send relevant articles only – not complete magazines or books of which the article is but a small part. If the entry is in transcript form, it must be presented in a typed, double spaced format on A4 paper and must be certified as having been published by a senior person representing the relevant publishing medium. Visual material is to be entered in the context of the published work i.e. to be submitted as published.

  •  

The target audience / market must be clearly identified for all entries. To be eligible for entry all:

  • Non-commercial entries must be accompanied by a readership or target market profile
  • Commercial or advertising entries must be accompanied by a signed-off brief from a client or advertising agency
  • Electronic Media entries must be accompanied by an audience profile or target market and include the names and position of those involved with the programme or website.

Entries that do not comply will be excluded from the awards.

 

  •  

There will be a panel of two judges plus the Chief Judge per award category. There is no obligation for the judges to make an award if they consider the entries in any section are not of sufficiently high standard.

  •  

The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

  •  

There will be no return of entries.

Winners will receive a cheque for $500 and a handsome bronze medallion.
