about, presenting, promoting, illustrating, and teaching about the specialist
area of food and beverages.All
our members interface with the public in some way – through
magazines, newspapers, radio, TV, publishing, teaching, consultancy,

Queen's Birthday Honour for Guild Member
The Executive and members of the New Zealand Guild of Foodwriters are delighted to congratulate Lauraine Jacobs on her recent M.N.Z.M Queen’s birthday honour and want you to know that we believe it is richly deserved. Lauraine has helped raise the profile of the food world through her passion, and generous sharing of knowledge and through your involvement with IACP.
Lauraine is President-Elect of the NZGFW.
Food Writers Conference 2009
October 15 -17, Hawkes Bay
The 2009 NZGFW Conference and Culinary Quills Awards presentation dinner will be held in October in sunny Hawke's Bay.
A fantastic programme of networking, visits to food producers and wine tastings is well advanced in the planning.
The conference will kick off with a Hidden Treasures of Hawke's Bay cocktail party on Thursday 15 October at 6pm, and the fun will continue throughout Friday and Saturday, wrapping up with a visit to the fantastic Farmer's
Market on Sunday morning.
Further information will be in the next Pen & Palate, and registration forms will be posted to all members in July.
